Use on its own or mix with color to create a structurally stable crackle effect on rigid surfaces.
What it does
- Creates a crackled texture as it dries on rigid surfaces.
- Dries to a hard, opaque finish.
- Maintains paint adhesion, durability and archival quality.
How to use it
- Use on rigid supports only.
- Can be used on its own and painted over once dry.
- Can be mixed with acrylic color - using no more than 15% paint to 85% medium.
- Apply paste evenly to surface with a palette knife.
- Leave to dry for at least 24 hours before painting over.
- Cracking will vary depending on how thickly you apply it - the effects will be more obvious on thicker applications but will take longer to dry.
- When using on wood, seal with a base layer of fluid/gel medium and let dry before Crackle Paste application.
- Fully compatible with all Liquitex products.
How not to use it
- Don't dilute with water.
- Don't force dry with a fan or heater as this may result in less or no cracking.
- Don't try and slow the drying time by adding a slow drying medium as this will affect crackling effect.
